Pat Smear

My Friend Nathan and I shared the same music interest, then one time we were talking something about Foo Fighters then he said.. “Why is everyone calling Pat Smear in his complete name? No one ever called him just by his first name (which is Pat)” and I was like stunned because I haven’t noticed it until he asked about it. Then I recall the times when I say some stuff about Nirvana or Foo Fighters and I always say his complete name! (i.e; Remember when Pat Smear did an awesome guitar solo?)

If you asked me who is my favorite member of Foo Fighters.. It would be the Punk Legend Pat Smear!

Pat Smear (born Georg Ruthenberg; August 5, 1959) is a rock guitarist who has played in the Germs, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters. He appeared regularly on the MTV fashion show House of Style with Cindy Crawford (wikipedia.org).

Honestly, I’m not familiar with Germs’ music all I knew is that it was one of the most influential bands of the 70s. The first time I saw him perform was on the Nirvana MTV Unplugged. I just became interested in him when I watched the Foo Fighters documentary.. and this is one scene made me laugh!

Even though he’s now look like some kick-ass musician who always wear black, I still see the 90s version of him in House of Style.. blonde and Fab! I just can’t help it! I love him in that show! haha

Happy Birthday George!

Happy 70th Birthday George!

Here Comes the Sun is my Favorite song written by George, I know everyone will agree with me when I say that this song is one of the greatest beatles song ever made. If you will ask me what post-beatle song is my favorite it would be All things shall past.

Kudos on George Martin for making a well done mix on this song. Maybe George would also be impressed when he hears this! 🙂

Best Coast announces a New EP

Now by Paramore

Paramore released the official video for their new single called “Now”. The single is included on their self-titled 4th album. I have been reading some articles about the up-coming album and it seems that everyone is excited about it. As for me, I am excited because this will be the first album without the Farro Brothers. When i first heard the single, I was like.. Hmm. This is surely different! However, I miss the loud drum banging sound (am i right? i dunno)

I really don’t know how will i react to this new journey that the band is taking.. I’m happy for them. really. I will always be a fan!

One time, i told my friend about this feeling that i have now with the band.. and he said that maybe i’ve already outgrown their music.. whatever! i just miss the days were i also do some head bang moves while listening to their songs.

Well, i’ll be waiting for the release of the album on April 9!

My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) by Fall Out Boy

After a long Hiatus… and everyone thinks that they already broke up. Fall Out Boy is back to “Save Rock and Roll”, the band released a new single called “My songs know what you did in the dark”. The band will release an album and going to be on Tour starting May 2013.

Well, I don’t think that they save rock and roll with that song. But i still give them a chance, especially they are one of my favorite bands. They have a soft spot on my heart and I believe that they created some good songs that can actually save rock and roll.

Cut Me Some Slack by Paul McCartney x Dave Grohl and Friends

Hello y’all! I’m Baaaack! and this will be my first post for 2013.. FLOP!

Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear performed a new song at The Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert last December 12, 2012.

I was so stoked when i saw the performance. I posted it immediately on my Facebook Account and Tag some of my friends! haha I think most people are so happy with this collaboration. They were like a super group. I’m so glad to see the surviving members of Nirvana performing again on stage.. and this time they were performing with Paul McCartney. C’mon its Paul McCartney for goodness sake! haha It was a bittersweet moment for most of the fans of Nirvana because Kurt won’t be there to perform. But i think that Kurt is also happy to see this performance. He is also a Beatles Fan. However, not everyone is pleased with the performance including Kurt’s Widow Courtney Love, of course! But what the hell.. haha

Anyways, I really love Krist Novoselic’s outfit, Pat Smear will always looks so fabulous to me (remember him on house of style, blonde and fab!), and I find “Dave Grohl and Friends” funny.. But I think they just did that to respect Kurt or whatever.. or many fans will be offended if they said it was a Nirvana Reunion.

They can say all they want.. But i think this performance is Kick-Ass! Uhm.. Wait.. Is it just me or the song sounded like Helter Skelter? Hmm.. Whatevs!

Holla Everyone! I’m back! Sorry for being MIA for too long. Honestly, I thought of not updating this music blog anymore because:
1. My blog is soooo lame!
2. I don’t have time to update this blog
3. My writing is horrible
4. My blog post are not that interesting

I decided to visit this blog today.. I viewed my notifications and then read some comments. this made me realized how much i missed blogging. 😦 So I decided to update it again.. Half Noise

We all know that the Farro brothers departed from their band Paramore two years ago. Now one of the Farro brothers, Zac Farro released his debut EP last October for his new Project called “Half Noise”. He collaborated with Jason Clark who plays guitar for the EP.

I admire Zac Farro with his talent to play drums. I mean it when i say that he is one of my favorite drummers ever! It also fascinates me because he did multiple-instruments for this EP, and it he created a new music which is completely different from his former band. Just listen to the whole EP. All of the songs are so good and relaxing. 🙂
